At its core, the 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic had installed a 903cc four-stroke V-twin liquid-cooled engine fed by an electronically controlled fuel injection system, delivering an output power of 37 hp at 5,700 rpm and 79 Nm (58 lb-ft) torque at 3,700 rpm. The bike was built around a double cradle steel frame with a 41 mm telescopic fork on the front, offering 150 mm of travel, and a uni-trak shock absorber on the rear with 100 mm of travel, delivering optimum suspension performance and handling.
