The 2015 CBR300R makes 27 horsepower stock, which just goes to show there’s no replacement for displacement. The added oomph and updated looks make this new CBR? a very appealing little bike. It’s more fun than ever to ride, but if a 286cc CBR is this good, I’m wondering how much better it would be if Honda had punched it out to a full 300cc? If it’s called a 300, why is the engine only 286cc? Because that’s as big as Honda could go without redesigning a lot of parts. By increasing the engine’s stroke only, Honda could get away with revisions only to the crank, connecting rod, and piston; the rest of the engine is the same as before, including the cylinder head. Increasing stroke instead of bore is also the most effective way to increase an engine’s torque. This bike is an excellent option for the beginner rider, the daily commuter who wants a gas saver, or just the everyday fun seeker who doesn't need a ton of power to put a smile of their face. As a part of the styling tweaks, the profile of the 300 is now slimmer. Seat height is actually a smidge taller on the 300, sitting at 30.7 inches, 0.2 inch taller than before, but a narrower seat/tank juncture and slim side covers makes flat-footing easy. If 30.7 inches still sounds too intimidating, Honda offers an accessory saddle, dropping seat height an entire inch. The same 357-pound curb weight as before makes the baby CBR incredibly easy to maneuver, whether you’re picking it up off the sidestand, moving it around the garage or changing direction on the road. This bike like all our bikes will be fully serviced, inspected and detailed at the time you take delivery.
